Sorry, haven't managed to catch it yet. Arrived a week or so ago looking quite scrawny, I fed it for a couple of days then left it for a couple of days but so far it hasn't wished to leave, so started feeding it again. Worried that it will be lunch for the cat or the lurcher

Have you been able to see if it's an NE bird? The number sounds familiar - dependin' on the year of course :)

Sorry, all I can see so far is: 2981 SU A

How would I catch it, throw a towel over it or would that give it a heart attack

In my ignorance of racing pigeons I had kind of assumed it would come right over and let me pick it up, but not this one anyway

Hi Where in Irvine are you as if its an A pigeon its from Ayrshire, and It may be a local fancier can come and help you
