Hi,

 

One of my indian fantails has very odd tail feathers

Its as if the ends are brittle and have snapped off

 

Any ideas

could be that the bird needs a good bathing in warm water with a little washing up liquid or shampoo.there is also an oil gland on the rump of the pigeon.with fantails its always an endless battle to keep there tail feathers in check.the birds will be moulting soon so i wouldnt pull them out just let the bird moult naturally.a bird needs to have a full body of feathers every year in order to have good feathereing.baths are very importand during the moult too.
