Guest RJefferies Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 With the recent horse meat scandal in Europe, we had the consumer blaming the supermarket, the supermarket blaming the manufacturer, and the manufacturer blaming the meat supplier lol. I then asked myself the question. Is the feed I am giving my birds genuinely free from GMO? Is this a concern for you or not? Are there any indications/labels on your feed stating that it is GMO free? I know in Europe most crops are GMO “free†but is this guaranteed. I think that crops containing built-in insecticides is bound to detrimentally affect the performance of racing pigeons and if left unchecked it will eventually affect the entire sport worldwide. Imagine having to feed your pigeons GMO feed over a long period of time. By now, nearly all informed people recognize that Monsanto is widely regarded as the most evil corporation on our planetMonsanto's actions are designed to maximize its corporate profits, not to serve the people. Its entire seed-and-herbicide business model is designed to trap farmers in a system of economic dependence... to turn farmers into indentured servants who can never return to traditional farming after their soil has been destroyed with Roundup Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/037289_monsanto_corporations_ethics.html#ixzz2QwEdTKIW

Chief Scientist, published his report on a Friday with photos and the then Prime Minister, (Tefelon Tony I think) sacked him by the following Monday. Can't afford to upset our American rulers or The big corporations like Monsanto can we.
Guest IB Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Not GM crop, but 3 neonicotinoid pesticides which affect bees homing instinct and now banned by EC from 1 December 13 for two years pending further investigations. http://ec.europa.eu/food/animal/liveanimals/bees/neonicotinoids_en.htm BBC TV ran a program around 10 days ago with clips of the experiment with radio-tagged bees getting lost in a journey of only a few hundred yards. Its no longer on IPlayer, here’s a newpaper link showing a photo of the bee and transmitter. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/beekeeping/10206225/Radar-antennae-reveal-how-disease-and-pesticides-are-harming-bees-navigation.html
