ghostrider Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 know the feeling, saying that ive a few new stockbirds..svr,cuesters.im letting a pair out a box at a time, some leading straw in...MOST cant be botheredleft to it i think they would prefur a bare nest bowl i stick the lights on 6.30 first thing, wake em up get them active
Wiley Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Ghost how long did you leave the lights on before pairing? In winter breeding I've found lights and the hens being the right weight a must, to get them laying between 7-10 days. If not enough light and slightly fat, they will go ten days and over.
ghostrider Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 lights...10 days before pairing,2 weeks of barley, before pairing.still a tad overweight on pairing.my fault, for the delay, should have been on the barley earlier thanks. stuart
