i once when much younger found a baby squirrel, its parents had been shot  and left and the drey ragged, this baby was only a few days old, so i took it home for some reason and while i was holding it, our cat who just days b4 had kittens was looking at it making this noise...well she picked it up and took it to where she had the kittems, she reared this squirrel and looked after it better than her kittens.

Depends how much they are and if I can talk my dear old mother into it. Someone told me the best way to keep cats out from your garden is to have a cat yourself, something to do with teritory? My thinking is if its a queen all the toms will be hanging round for a jump all the time?

plus i will make sure its a boy,,,then it will be territorial enough for you and can be trained to not touch the pigeons if your a patient man, but, still dont give them the upper hand,,,cats are cats !!!

Lol your a sod chris my ass aint got time to sit down with my dear mother being ill. Ted I have mentioned it but didnt get much of an answer as yet but will get her with the question when she is in a more chatty mood as I would love one of them. Hope they are all still doing well I'm sure your doing a great job though. Ducks are fine and looks like they are here for the duration as Slimbridge cant take them because of bird flu restrictions aparently, waterfoul trust though have put Linda intouch with a Swan rescue centre in Newport of all places, which having spoken to them will take them in, so give me the lowdown on that chris please cause if I'm putting my babies into care of others its got to be beter than I can do myself even though they are driving us quackers lol

swan centre in newport nver heard of one ever mate unless its on fishing lakes but i would not put them there at all  chick would take um mark sure there is somewere up there better than down here  and at least they would still be within youer knowledge

Well I thought last night when told about it that they could do no more for them than I am myself. I'm not trying to get rid of them but thought I'd look to see if there was anywhere that could do the job better? The woman on the phone from Slimbridge asked all about them and was shocked so many had survived as they say that out of a hatch like that being wild ducks and so young that only 1 or 2 usually survive so take some pride in that yourself chris for your help and advice buddy sure did the trick as 7 out of 9 is excelent and made us better than the so called Pro'sat this!

Well just in case anyone was wondering what had happened to the ducklings here are some pic's. The first one is of their residence. Unfortunatly they have had an eviction notice put on them but my Mother as she cant hear the telly for them more often than not lol so will soon be moving to my aviery (weather permitting) as they will have much more room to move about and grow. The second one is of them having just been fed, the third one is heaven if your trying to watch telly as they are much quieter. I think you should open a wildlife sanctury Chris, these could be your first rescue-ees lol. Come and get 'um you know you want to! The last Pic I came accross and thought it was quite funny. hope it didnt really happen that way though!
