We've had our pigeons now for around a year, gradually we've added and we now have 8, a mixture of breed's. We appear to have been quite lucky so far in that there hasn't been a consistent period of rain, we've only had to not let them out on the odd day in the last year. However, at the minute it's raining all day, every day, normally in the rain we'd keep them in but it's raining for days at a time.

Should I be more willing to let them out in the rain? Or should I look past their apparent frustration and keep them in for their own good?

most birds will sit on the top of the loft with a wing in the air.as long as the birds can get back into the loft if they want in it should be fine.just watch for preditors as they will go hunting when the rain stops.

I have a 6ft aviary on the side of my loft and the birds seem to prefer sitting out in that even when its chucking it down, so yes let them out, however geordiejen makes a good point about predators.
