buster151 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 (1) what time of the year would you start breeding young to fly on the natural system without them falling apart (2) when would you stop a youngster racing that was going through the moult? I have a couple a bit scruffy around the neck, some with missing tail feathers and some with half grown tail feathers thank you in advance for replies
blackdog Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 1, feb- march2 years ago you could send a youngster going through the moult and bare around the neck to 200mls and get them back no problem, now we struggle to get them back in perfect condition? now, i would stop them mate for next year if they have had a few races.
eyesign123 Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 you see pigeons do not like the cold weather specially when they are in the moult around neck so i would stop them straight away and let them get a good moult. Then bring them out as yearlings
