OLDYELLOW Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Welcome to Pigeon Basics , Pigeonpoop , Perhaps you would like to introduce yourself to the forum members
Pigeonpoop Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Well I'm here as I acquired a stray racing pigeon a week ago. I've been in touch with the owner who seemed to want her back but as yet has made no effort to get her home (or at least hasn't informed me), although to be fair we are a fair distance away. I'm just trying to learn how best to look after the pigeon and am getting rather attached to her.....
OLDYELLOW Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Well done for looking after this pigeon , maybe remind the owner may help or perhaps if give your details a site member maybe able to help
Pigeonpoop Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 I've just left them another message so will see if they get back to me. Any ideas on how long without contact is considered acceptable before I try and rehome the pigeon ? I'd love to give the pigeon a permanent home with me but that would require considerable persuasion of the husband, so a home with another bird lover is probably best. I don't want to be leaving the poor pigeon cooped up in a dog crate indefinitely
OLDYELLOW Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 There's many members on here covering the Uk so it would be more than likely that there be a site member near to you if you tell us where you live a small shed will make a loft but if the bug bites ya you'll want more
Pigeonpoop Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 One pigeon would be a sulky husband, a loft full would be a divorce I'm near Chorley in lncashire Or Lancashire as it's more commonly known !
Pigeonpoop Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 Well I spoke to the owner today and he didn't really want her back, so pigeon has been found a new home at the local pigeon feed mill - at least she shouldn't go hungry !
