Found By Non Fancier

a pigeon has been found in musselburgh by non fancier.

he has spoken to owner but told to feed and liberate it.

he has done so but it cant fly and owner not interested

can someone in the area contact finder please as he is going away for a week and is concerned for the bird, even if just to find it a new home !!

if nobody can pic it up tell him to take it to the spca.they will then contact the owner through the ring id and on top of going to get it they will also charge the owner too.its a disgrace when i hear of anyone going to the trouble of finding the owner only for them to say just feed it and throw it up.shame on you.

Spca should be a last resort surly, we dont want to highlight the fact that there are bad fanciers

is there no one in the area can collect this bird.

Just saw post as been a late night! Am about 5 mile from finder so will call him later when hes out of bed to see if still has the pigeon and if so will pick it up. Will update you as it goes.

Not getting any joy on phone from number supplied for jason. Tried ringing it 4 times and its going onto voicemail and been charging me each time. Then I get a txt back with ?????, nothing else. I sent a txt back saying.......re pigeon. NO CALL BACK. Called it again and still no answer.Take it the finder does not answer the phone unless the name of caller comes up and/or name is not stored in the phone. Sent another txt to explain with 5 pages and another 50p in charges. Still hasnt bothered to get back to me.Was prepared to give it my time and effort with calls to original owner and petrol etc but getting more and more frustrated by the minute. The ball is in the finders court now so up to him if he contacts me back. Gave it a shot and not a lot more I can do..........Ray

Finder has since contacted me re the bird. He apparantly contacted a pigeon rescue site which had a few names of local fanciers willing to pick up lost birds. A chap called Allan from Port Seaton seemingly picked up this bird at about 8pm last night so all's well that ends well so to speak.I thanked the non fancier finder for taking the trouble to report the bird but shame on the owner letting things get to this with HIS bird! Pity I did not get the ring number or it would have been put on here for all to see!

and another guy phoned about it as well.

got to say both men were very polite and helpfull

and also thanked me for spending the time to report and care for the bird.

if only the owner of the bird was as helpful it would have been better for all involved.

please give my thanks to the two men who called me and took the bird
