i dont spend a lot of time with them so maybe with a bit of time they would be ok

id sharp fettle that sitting on house roof, last time i had pigeons in back garden if 1 sat on house roof that was it,id get the rest in fed,the 1 sitting on roof would be left out till next morning,it doesnt take long for the penny to drop but you got to learn em from a early age.its a different ball game keeping pigeons in back garden to alotments, alotments light feed in morning but evening feed as much as they can eat, back garden ya cant do that.i think ill get some show racers but if i cant keep em under control they wont be here long lol.thanks for the input boys n girls

They will fly out without any problem if kept under control.

If you have a hawk prob i wouldn't let them out though as unlikly to become as street wise as racers.

Also if you plan on showing them they are better of being kept in where you can control the feed, keep them clean etc.

ive had show racers for a year now and i dont let them out, been thinking about it but ive been informed to keep them in if i intend on showing them.i have taken a few ybs from the nest and hand eared them for a week or so and they are like pets.im going to let these ybs out with my horseman pouters and see if i can get them trained for flying out.

you get the odd sparrow hawk knocking about, nah not going to show them i just like these show racers to look at but would like to see em fly out even if its just 40 mins once a day.my plan is get 6 maybe 12 yb's ill give them a chance but if they are thick as mince ie just sitting on roof all day ill have to out them, but i will give them a chance.i had a friend in carmarthenshire, davies and son they lived in a small place called tywn in ammandford.the dad was called les davies,do you know him ???? got some great birds off this loft.

well i have let my youngins out and they can all fly well.they are doing upto an hour but if they have dissapeared then i dont know if they are still flying.could be sitting on a roof a few blocks away for all i know.

I had a show race cross with a racer, a well bred racer at that the young bird was thick as anything was a bugger for the slates, I don't have it anymore.

m8 they will fly aswell as your racers if feed right there only thick,, as the folk looking after them aint feeding them or treating them like racers , i can assure you they will fly no probs m8 :emoticon-0167-beer:

why would someone else answer it chad, your the one that questioned putting out show racers with pouters.to be honest looking back on some other things youve said your not very bright are you.seems its not only me you waste your time on.

although i let the racers out i should keep them in a couple of months before the showing as they ae very lean at the moment.you can feel the strength and muscle when handling them i will need to turn that into filling the body out a bit.
