OLDYELLOW Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Martin Harper 'No bird of prey should be culled to protect a sporting interest' well wild song birds should be afforded the same protection and they aint a sporting interest !!!! They should start to open there eyes to the fact that the red list has only ever come about at the Hands of the R.S.P.B , whilst the R.S.P.B boosted birds of prey , birds have been added to the red list a simple link nothing to do with lack of habitat as the governments has lots of farm lands and reserves that have land set aside for wild life if anything they now have more habitat and still the red list gets bigger and the bop population increases and is going unchecked . Pigeon Fanciers and Game Keepers and land owners and farmers are seeing this first hand and are far more knowledgeable at the damage these birds are causing both to industry , leisure and tourism Perhaps Defra should be the next to get a knock on there door as they got this pushed for game keepers ?????? albeit they backed down for now .
