Guest bigjohnwadd Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 total rubbish, spread by animal rights activists, rspb ect,you should be stood up alongside fishermen, not trying to bring them downlistening to typical spewed out manure. Try to look through all the propaganda these organizations produce,do you not have the mentallity to see these people churn out the same whitewashing tripe against pigeon fanciers over their beloved BOP. :-/ :-/
Guest strapper Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 fishing line with hooks do injure animals ..but if you are fishing and your line is stuck on say a small island thats out of reach there is no way of retrieving the broken line with an hook on it..i know im a fisherman too....very rarely does this happen. i think more damage to animals are from unlawful letting fluids into streams and rivers/ponds. but line with a hook on does injure animals...but they dont stay around for ever as the hooks rust and break up...line is left.
Guest Owen Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Fishermen should be more responsible. I have no fondness for foxes because, to me they are vermin. But we should not disregard the plight of the foxes because it is irresponsible in the extreme to leave fishing tackle lying about. When I was on holiday in California, I spent a day fishing, something I had never done before. I was amazed at the number of pelicans with fishing line hanging out of their mouths. Not the odd one, a very large number. When I asked about it, I was told that Sealions, Seaotters and all sorts of other wildlife suffered as well. If I had my way I would punish anybody for doing such stupid and irresponsible things like contaminating the environment. Mind you that would go for Litter Louts and Fly Tippers as well, if it was up to me. I'd have them horse whipped.

That's not always the fishermans fault, pelicans, seagulls etc think nothing of grabbing the bait as you cast out and its their own fault they get hooked as there is nothing the fisherman can do about it. People are too quick to jump to conclusions when it comes to things like this and I think you'll find that like pigeon men, fishermen in the whole are very caring of the enviorenment certainly from my experience. Not saying there aren't the odd baffoon out there who don't give a stuff because there are but tarring all with same brush is wrong.
Tony C Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Have the Germans got it right? Obtaining a fishing license like the German nationals are obligated to do is time consuming and quite pricey. Its process entails taking a 30-hour course. This fishing class has little to do with how to cast a reel or put a worm on a hook, but is an intensified study of fishing regulations, habitat and biology. This course is followed by a comprehensive fishing exam that tests what the students have learned.

Maybe so i do occasionally enjoy fishing and try to do things properly, but some of the sights you see, some of the fishermen seem just to go to get blathered and leave the place like a tip.

Guest Owen Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 The Germans, in my experience, love regulations. The Yanks are nearly as bad, at least in Califorinia they are. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that something like 80% of white Americans are from German stock. While I was there I saw a sensus type of thing they had done looking at the ethnic origins of the population. I wish I had kept a copy of it now, because it was very interesting. I did not mean to tar all Fishermen with the same brush but you have to admit that it does not take many to spoil things. You only have to look at the fools who throw litter about. Most of us would deplore it but few of us would actually say anything.

One day he went off looking for a "good time" and went across a wailway line and was beheaded by an on coming train. Moral of the story DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD WHEN LOOKING FOR YOUR FLUFF
