I think there is something seriously wrong with dogs whose aim in life is to fight. The people who breed them are guilty of breeding morons. And there is something wrong with the people who want to keep these animals. Everywhere you look these days, you see dogs that have been bred to fight. Worse still many of them are out and about without supervision.

Dogs are decended from Wolves and they do not fight amongst themselves unless there is a very good reason. The whole point of a wolf pack is to work together. Most of dog breeds inherit that traint. Just as I think that a human being that wants to fight for no reason is a nutter and should be locked up, so it is with dogs. Except that in the dog's case, I would have them put down.

I have no quarrel with a dog that defends it's owner or it's owner's territory but there is no excuse for a dog taking the initiative and attacking without warning. I believe that a dog from one of these moronic breeds that does that will go on and do it again. I hope it is not a child next time. But, if it does happen, the owners should be severly punished.

In principle dogs are wild animals we have harnessed that "wildness" to suit our own domestic way of life but underneath that domesticity there is still the potential wild animal and lets be honest almost any breed will bite and the old adage comes to the fore "give a dog a bad name" Large or small they still  bite.We read in the papers stories of children being killed or maimed by dogs that were the epitome of all that was good in a dog. They are still wild, watch the pups round the feeding bowl the strongest and most aggressive eat first, just like in the wild.
