ive noticed a few struggling with raising youngsters , suffering with watery droppings etc. what do you do to make sure that the youngsters you raise are big and healthy ??.

singles best, jag young and canker when spaned???Water the thing and the quicker the better!!! Feed something they feed on easy and change to wot ye are gan tae feed quickly!

JAg for typhoid in nest and myxo later. Canker cos have always done it even tho the parents are treated before pairing???Belt and braces but just feel it stops the babies going backwards?

Good food, i like to use farm beans when rearing ybs, clean fresh water, plenty of minerals, i also like using pellets, had no problem with rearing a good yb. :)

what pellets and how many ?? % of feed or in a seperate trough or pot .

Mine is dead simple Andy, A good breeding mix, black minerals and grit and I don't breed youngsters that I don't like the look of, if I did I'd be looking at the parents

Mine is dead simple Andy, A good breeding mix, black minerals and grit and I don't breed youngsters that I don't like the look of, if I did I'd be looking at the parents

NEVER HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE QUALITY OF OUR YBS

BUT ALWAYS HAD THE ODD PAIR WHERE YER GET DIFFERENT SIZE YBS

THERE'S ALWAYS ONE WILL BE MORE DOMINANT IN THE NEST

OR AN UNEVEN CHIP

SINGLE REARED DEFFO THE BEST WAY TO GO [JMO]

No I really don't get different sized young, and what is it you don't like about the cull ones when you've weaned?

Andy when a make the pale up for all the birds i mix a handfull into the pale, mix through and feed the birds, i also give Hormoform as well mixed with the corn.

Back is the most important for me!! Nae tails in air!!! Nae flighty bassas!!! Nae runts and nae massive cocks!!! Nae badly fooks and nae sittin doon as babies!!!! No a big fan of frills and quiffs and bent keels wae babies are for the bin!!! Dinny like squeakin and gruntin after a week spaned and anything that sits on roofs constantly is gone!!!

Defo Bill but I huvnae handled many winners that I didny like in my hand!!!!!
