also on return from races i just give my cocks a light feed let them get a drink let them meet there hen then a hour or two later after all has calmed down i let them tuck in

 

will a bird burn off that much muscle in a easy race that it needs 100% maples :emoticon-0138-thinking:

All athletes have to eat a high protein diet after any physical exercise, muscle fibres get torn and need to be repaired. On the north road which I race sprint racing isn't an easy task as the majority of weeks our birds face a nose wind, which will take more effort then a tail wind race, hence the feeding of maples and tic beans.

myself i use a high protein mixture all week with no breakdown.

 

the mixture is from a farm ...which is already pre mixed.

its about £8.60 for a 25kg bag.

 

i must admit i do like a small seed mixture..and would try racing on it if i could afford the corn .
