Guest evilscotsman Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Hi folks it appears i have some verry messy YBS despite scraping and cleaning there section morning and night they constanly have mucky feet short of expanded metal flooring and some grills on the flat surfaces i dont know what else i can do? any ideas would be welcome they also get a litter box with luke warm water and some ACV to have a bath i throw in a few peanuts and they dive right in lol! so that helps a little
lvlasked Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 dunno mate my birds dont ever get dirty feet and i only bath them 2 times aweek and clean them out once a day :S
Guest evilscotsman Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 I notice the more the young get out the cleaner there feet seam to be i can only assume its with them waddling on the grass that cleans them oh how its funny watching them waddle around the grass
Guest IB Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 They are maybe too young yet to do the full preening thing? I notice that my old birds after taking oil from the preen gland seem to wipe 'excess' off one side of their beak using one foot. After they've done preening their feathers, they then do their feet.
