bagzi Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Hello! All, I'm fairly sure this has been brought up before but as I'm new to keeping pigeons here we go again. I have a Hen King pigeon which more or less overnight has gone off Her food has a mucky vent and is just sitting hunched up, anything I can do?
THE FIFER Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 first thing m8 is to get it away from your other birds, what is its droppings like
Guest strapper Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Hello! All, I'm fairly sure this has been brought up before but as I'm new to keeping pigeons here we go again. I have a Hen King pigeon which more or less overnight has gone off Her food has a mucky vent and is just sitting hunched up, anything I can do? hi can you post a pic of the birds droppings..but make sure the pic is of the freshest droppings from the affected bird. if you take the droppings to a vet for examination, then take droppings from several birds. if the bird has already got a dirty vent then i would say that there is an imbalance in the gut,and i would suggest having the droppings tested to be sure about the type of illness your bird has got .
Guest bigda Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 sounds to me it has circo virus, very hard to treat, and think it will die within the week
OLDYELLOW Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 could be a number of things could just be a digestive problem , but they only way to get it right is get it tested by a vet , in the case of a ill birds isolate , starve for a few days but give water with electrolytes , then feed lightly to see if improves
