My hen sparrow hawk didn't go onto her nest untill the second week in May last year, two weeks later than normal.

unpaired female spars will be a problem as they dont gain weight for breeding and hunt daily.

The sparrow hawk hen has gone away somewhere else

If a hen sparrow hawk weighed........say 235 grams I recon her head would weigh 17 grams. Can anyone confirm this or am I miles out??

Wallace was quartered!

I have not had any bother whatsoever from MY sparrow hawk for a couple of weeks now. I hope it's too late for another hen to move in before nesting time.

Something must have happened to the one that bothered me all winter.
