wee eck Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I would be very reluctant to go back to a conventional clock but I will if the cost of ETS continues to rise. I can see the problem that the Manufacterures have, once they have made a huge profit from the initial sales of the equipment they only have the rings to sell other than the odd request for cable and the like. The problem we have is that there is not enough competition out there.not too sure that the manufacturer has made huge profit from the sales of the actual clocks, most manufacturers look to get the hardware out there at as low a cost as possible to entice as many as possible to buy, then make their constant profit from continual sales of rings. This is the business model used by playstation/x-box nintendo wii etc

Guest strapper Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 The enjoyment on race day has been enhanced by ETS. No panic striken doos, no jammed buckets, no dodgy till rolls, nae filthy ink pads, nae strike on a friday night. No entry forms, nae fibbin aboot returns, nae rubbers and birds in baskets in half the time!!!! yes you forgot to say, birds not being recorded in with ets after spending so much in a national to send them, costs rising with ets, battery life only 5 years, with t3 its 10yrs.with ets you are a drone ..not actual taking part any longer in the actual race...as you say the ets system does it all for you. all you do with ets is take your birds to the club and put them through the system...thats your race participation over with. there will be better and a worst side to all systems..there be will benefits to both systems on the other...although i respect your own opinion.
