Guest strapper Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 hi there was looking at buying a bird of here but was told to stay away whys this ? its the only place i could find a bird i was after ive heard the same, but seen some nice birds on there.
owen101 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 im after a slatey cock bird saw one on there its a racing pigeon
kirky Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 ive heard of birds been sent with no rings on.
bewted Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 better of buying from a good pigeon fancier on the likes of this site,,,,most on birdtrader are just that,,,,,,most times not good quality, but, the old saying goes,,,,buyer beware ! sorry cant help more !
pjc Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 i've not heard anything good about it! There are sellers on there from Bristol that sell a lot of birds they don't have, couriers go there to find its false address etc. These people are foreign. Beware!
owen101 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 oo no need to have rings on i will have to look elsewhere what about louellas
Guest strapper Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 oo no need to have rings on i will have to look elsewhere what about louellas im sure there are some on here that have them..ask about.
pjc Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 also remember even if you ring the vendor for a chat about the birds your paying premium rate call charges!
owen101 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 decided to look around on this site if nothing is around here will take a visit to louella
bewted Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 decided to look around on this site if nothing is around here will take a visit to louella be a little patient,,,,,as time of year most fanciers have there chosen pairs,,,,,but,,,i am sure with a little patience someone will help you some where,,,,this site is good for helping fellow fanciers on here a lot too !
Guest pigeon82 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 your best bet is to ask on here and put a thread up stating what your looking for and see if anyone on here can help you out im sure there is someone that could sort you out mate as the saying goes if you dont ask youll never know you maybe surprised what some fanciers will do to help another fancier out and that is the true pigeon fancier
Guest shippy Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 owen if you are not in a hurry my janssens usually chuck a slatey will gladly give you a youngster when ready dont buy off traders
ap2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Birdtrader is no good for buying pigeons. I was told by many people to keep away from the website as there are a lot of scammers and people that put photos of the pigeon are adverts are not even the pigeons they are selling (it belongs to someone else)
pjc Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 hi now i ve sold a few birds on the birdtrader site in 09 & any one whos had dealing with the tractorboy always get a first class service i can t speak for the others on there :X but found if looking at buying please ask loads of the seller a lot of chaps looking for doos fine that site first will say i ve seen doos ring less but still asking good £££ so buyer beware By the time you've asked the seller a few questions its cost you a fiver on the phone call!
DOVEScot Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 By the time you've asked the seller a few questions its cost you a fiver on the phone call! Just ask for their land line number or mobile number and phone them back, this is how these sites allow free advertising they get their money from phone enquiries :-/ It does not matter where you buy your birds from studs, lofts, classifieds, pigeon forums or pigeon shows you always run the risk of being ripped off but glad to say the rip off merchants are still in the minority :-/
Guest peter4pm Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 birdtrader is not all bad ..you can obtain some good birds from people ...just make sure who your dealing with is the real deal ...if you see bristol mentioned ...be carefull ok
Guest Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I have to agree with Peter4pm. Bristol is a no no, especially for fancy birds and show racers. I have asked a top show fancier to compile a list of repatable fanciers in the Bristol area which she has agreed to do for me.
