Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Dear Pigeon Basics members, a friend and I a thinking about running a one loft race for 2011 with similar rules to the current ones going, but with the difference of it being down here in Cornwall where the flying is tough, for this year (2011) as a trial we will be able to take 30 young birds, this will cost £50 a bird on a first come first serve basis with a maximum of 3 birds per entrant. On the basis of 30 birds being received this will put £1500 in to a pot where £400 will be retained for expenses, the other £1100 will be saved for the final two races where it will be a small prize for the first 4 which will be 1st £75 2nd £50 and 3rd £30 4th £ 25 (will be from around 75 miles) this will then leave £920 in the pot. The last race will be, Approx a week later with £950 to fly for split into 6 prizes of 1st £400 2nd £200 3rd £100 4th £75 5th £50 6th £25 7th £20 8th £15 9th £10 10th £5. We are going to sit down and have a good chat about this but who would be interested?? Cheers for now Ben Hammill and Jon Trevarthen
Guest devonred Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I'd be up for it, living in Barenstaple
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 at the end of the racing the birds will be sold with the option of the owner buying for £75 or it being auction with the money being split 60% to the breeder 40% to us. please not these rule are just as a basic starter these could be subject to change any profits made will be put into expanding the year after it is open to scotland wales ireland and england
Guest challengerlofts Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I'm intersted. Birds will be sold with the option of the owner buying for £75. Ideal starting price for the auction's £50.

b.massey Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 too many birds of prey down your area for my liking Would like to live where you are then... BOP is EVERYWHERE!
blaz Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 not for me it would cost me $185 to send 3 for £235 i can send 2 to for example the r.p.r.a whare the prize money is in the thousands.if you breed your best birds for a one loft race better to send them to the professionals and the chance of more prize money.only my opinion
