Hi

I bought an anti cat trap a while ago and i had a bird sitting on the inside of it all the time stopping the other birds coming into the loft, so i tied it down when i didn't have any birds out flying.  A couple of times now the brick i had tied to the wire had fallen and the birds have somehow got through it.  How can i stop it happening, preventing the bird from sitting on it and closing it to stop him sitting on it.

Here is the link for it http://www.everythingforpets.com/anti_cat_trap.pet/use.id.5.item_id.1044.dept.183/

Thanks

but then it won't work as a anti cat trap
:(youve lost me a little .......... is it a flat perch type ,with weighted end inside loft ?? making it ok for bird to sit on ,but if a cat goes on it it shuts??  if so cannot see how a small balloon tied on inside would prevent it working ... just try it tommorrow , keep us posted , best of luck ......       andy.

i used to make my own its the wait on the inside there should not be a perch on the inside cut it off and move the wait up against the trap you may need to alter the wait the only perch should be on the outside i used springs attached to the side instead of waits just got to get it right for the wait of pigeons

even an anti cat trap isn't 100% cat proof etc.

If you are going to use them they are best used for late birds to re-enter the loft corridor or an empty section.

This firstly prevents anything sitting on the inside and secondly if something gets through the trap it can't get to your birds!

Do you also want strays going into your birds which may be carrying any infections?
