sapper756 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 you hit nail on head there end of day everyone different i was brought up around fieldsport and so on some agree to pest control some dissagree i dont agree on what they are doing in the video as that is nothink other then killing for fun off it i must add though some might think pest control means as it a registered pest or vermin you have got to shoot it when ever you see it pest control is keeping numbers down when they become a pest just because ie a grey squirrel or wood pigeon is a registered pest and you see them dont mean you got to shoot or control them pest control is controlling pests if and when they become a problem to be fair the press dont make it any good when you keep on hearing and seeing people going on mad shooting spree and turning gun n them selfs everyone is intiltiled to there own and i am a strong fieldsport follower always have and always be i hold my hands up if i have p'ss a few people of but thats me i say it as it is dont mean to b affence to no one but ive always been the same with anythink i feel strongly about. all best. WELL SAID, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS, BUT IT IS IMPORTANT WE RESPECT THE VIEWS OF OTHERShttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif
Guest Owen Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 I am glad we have managed to reach a sort of concencus of opinions amongst us. In a free country like ours we should be able to accept that we all have the right to live any way we want, with respect for each other and respect for the live creatures that are all around us. I firmly believe that people who show little repect for animals and birds are quite likely to take a similar attitude to people. Then there are the people like the RSPB that think they know it all and want to do things because "It is good for us". That bunch of slime balls are almost as bad as the people we saw on that film, because they cause suffering through their ignorance. The pity is that we have not found a good way to control their excesses yet. However, sooner or later I am sure we will.By the way, those who are in to pest control would be doing us all a faviour if they got shot of the feral pigeons in the towns and cities. They are doing untold damage to the environment and to the image of the sport. If they were not there, the birds of prey would not have a food source and the local authorities would not have the excuse that the birds of prey should be used to control them.
retired Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Cant say i am personally a fan of hunting and would never participate in this practice whether it be rabbit, fox, wood pigeon or the like. I just dont like it however each to there own and those that want to do it have the same right to do it as i do to not participate providing they do things humanely as possible thats all that matters to me. After all i might not want to do it but it would be hypocritical otherwise as i am quite happy to eat pigeon, rabbit, duck, pheasant etc.
