Guest stb- Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Hey, when you live up here in Scotland, 325 miles is sprintingaye yer right but ive had them van reets to score to reims 580 there pretty versatile depends how you manage them
tommy2 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 think your bang out of order with this comment,it takes time and dedication to win in shorter distances with bigger birdages ie i don't fly in the UNC but to to win out of 20,000 + pigeons from the coast or shorter is a dream come true, each to their own and if you like distance racing then keep your comments for posts in that category,ps i would welcome your comments on what youd as sprint To be honest AYE READY,thats my opinion, and majority of proper national(not mickey mouse) flyers here think same way,u n combine gets laughed at,all that hype for whats little more than follow my leader pigeons raced by follow my leader fanciers, makes me laugh , most of you lot frightened to death to race in l/k sections of nfc,or BBC /BICC even in short sprint type up to 450 miles, its a shame really,i would think there should be 1or2 good birds that could compete in true National races out of all that 20,000 + rubbish

Guest challengerlofts Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Who can tell me what strains families i should be looking for,i think i am going to start of pure sprinting which i think is going to be my best way of starting in the sport You can find the best sprinter strains families in your own local club. There's one of your member as well who have it the exceptional birds, who live just right behind the radius of your club.
Guest lee duffy Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 i got a lefebre cock from a fancier. with out fail in short races there first back and if there not there always top 5. i think theres a lefebre strain that is long distance and one that pure sprint.im sure an old timer would tell you as its an old breed lolatb lee
blaz Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 not the best way to help someone starting in to racing telling them any old thing can win sprint races. WRONG to win any decent sprint race or any sprint race 1 your bird needs to be fast and fit.2 your bird needs to have total confidence with no fears when trapping when it gets home.3 you have to make sure you have taken the time to ensure you have done the best to your own ability to encourage your bird to put in that wee bit extra to get home in front of the rest. as for being told to get extream distance birds .i would not advise that to start with as most extreme distance birds take longer to mature. if i was starting up and looking to buy birds for pure sprinting i would proberly go for ROLAND JANCENS sprint very well from about 60mile 200mile OMO for birds that will do sprint up to 200mile and still be going up to middle distance 400 mile i would go for VANLOONS AND STAFF VAN REETS ALSO BUSSHARTES the later does well out to 500 plus OMO for distance birds over 400 mile i would go for JAN AARDENS AND FLOROZONES. OMO
BLACK W F Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 there are many sprint familys aroond some win in some areas but not in others find oot whats winning in your area then your part way there but first if the birds aint healthy you wont score sprint racing is system and feeding once they fit take your time and choose wisely what races to go for untill you get a team together all the best cheers Alan
