Guest Bob Millward Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I have a racing pigeon with a red band on it's leg living in my garden. It has been here nearly a week and I can't catch it. It has a spotty head and seems to like noise i.e. machinery, drills etc. It isn't frightened of dogs or people but has now joined with our resident pair of wild pigeons. Worried that it will not survive the winter. What should I do?ThanksBob

Guest bigda Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 hi bob can you lead the bird in to a shed with some dried peas or broth mix or maybe a box or the old way of a big box with a stick tied to a length of string tilt the box on it side with the stick as a propplace some seed under the box and when the bird you want comes under for feed pull the string tied stick away and the box will drop on top make a small hole in the top of the box to put your hand in to pull it out, don't worry pigeons do not bite they will just flutter about a bit keep a firm grip on it and get some one to read the numbers out write them down and get back to us hope this helps all that find birds
