Cancer Sales - Refund Issue.

This has been a private matter, but i have decided to go public because i am being made out to be "skimming off" money from the monies that the sales made.

It all goes back to December 2009, and a pigeon that was bought in the first sale (sale of old birds and latebreds) on www.pigeon-chat.com. The sales were held the end of September 2009 and i was notified the beginning of December 2009 that the bird was ill. The bird died a few days later. I then sent an email to the person saying we would make a refund as long as he sent the ring and a letter requesting a refund (for my records). This email was sent on the 7th December 2009.

I have been upfront about everthing in this sale, and have issued an interim balance sheet, that showed this as a "pending refund". This balance sheet was issued in July 2010. The Balance sheet was created in January 2010 and just updated, and the "pending refund" was an item from the first one.

We are now in September and this person has now approached me, basically saying he wants the refund now. It seems his only motive to claim the money now is because he thinks i have already issued it as a refund and as i said "kept the money myself", but if anyone care to looks it clearly says "pending".

Since the balance sheet in July it had been decided that the monies would be allocated, as nothing had been received nor any communication, and that is the case. I have run it past a couple of friends and site admin on the site the sale was held and they all agree he has had enough time, so there will be NO REFUND.

Can i just say that i am not stupid enough to think that i could arrange a sale and try to "skim" money off of it. Everything is and will be accountable, every outgoing will be receipted and itemised and when we are at the end it was my intention of sending all the paperwork, first to Phil Crawford to scrutinise then to the admin of Pigeon Basics and also the admin of www.pigeon-chat.com if they wanted to see them.

I arranged these sales for one reason only, and to make money personally from them was not that reason. I dont need the money especially the amount we are talking, and it guts me to think that someone would think i would. My only sin in all of this is we did not get the money out sooner, but that was patrly my fault and also to those we tried to donate to.

As far as i am concerned it is matter closed.

Hi Mick

As far as I can see you have done everything correct as people may know you have made donations to CLAN Aberdeeen via my wife.

If a purchaser has a problem the ring should be returned and Doner and sales organisor should be informed ASAP.

I fully support your stance.

This is the problem with sales organisors they are always suspect to be victims of unreasonable people most of which do nothing to help charities or anything else.

Hopefully this experience will not put you off in future, in raising monies for good causes. As I have said before, in all walks of life you will get those that take some sort of enjoyment at knocking others, and as said, you tend to find it is those that do not donate or support causes, that always come out from under their stones, and cause trouble.

Fortunately, they are the minority, and the majority of fanciers will donate and support good causeshttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

The Fancier in question has now agreed to not pursue the refund, so case closed and money can still go to where it is intended.

I'd appreciate if this topic can now be locked by admin, thanks.
