I bought the very same shed and to be honestit is c**p. It didnt come with all the bits and we had to reinforce the floor with 18mm ply as it was so poor. the pins they gave us for the felt werent even long enough to go through it never mind attatch it to anything. thought it was to good to be tru and it was !! Oh well with a few extra quid we havemade do but wont be getting another one from them. Bit worried that the shiplap stuff is more like a louvre!!!
Guest bakes Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 sorry to hear about that baby bird all the best bakes.
Guest spin cycle Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 i've a 12x6 stock loft and also bought nestboxes and training crates. good quality and lovely people to deal with. i paid 550 for my loft...they're ok to put together but the roof needs some extra timber. really its a 12x6 shed...so if you can get a good quality shed for less you're probably better
wilkins Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 i have had floor grilsl 5 years ago and still in good condition, and i have have bought 3 feeders 1 meter long with hinged roof for £10 each , in my local corn store they are £17 for something very similar
Babybird Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Where would you put the ventilation louvres? I bought 4 today, any suggestions. Should I keep the window as a window or put some spars/mesh there instead?
Guest bakes Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Where would you put the ventilation louvres? I bought 4 today, any suggestions. Should I keep the window as a window or put some spars/mesh there instead? i would put the louvers one at front of loft one on left & right side's of the loft and one at the back off the loft gives ventilation from all 4 sides then for the window i would put sputnik/stall trap in one window other window i would put some clear perspects to get the light into loft all the best bakes.

Thanks, will get onto that tomorrow or maybe not as the national is on and my neighbour has sent, so mine will have to be in tomorrow Sunday it is then. I have the sputnik on the left handside so what do you suggest covering the window it is perspex just now on both bits, that be o.k?
Guest Owen Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I like to make my own lofts. I use shuttering plywood, good one side. By using this sort of material you end up with a completely water proof loft after you have treated the outside. The 8X4 sheets of ply lend themselves to a good width and you can get the hieght to what is ideal for you. I like and apex roof made from either steel sheets or onduline. If you decide on steel the roof must be made at a steep angle if you are to avoid condensation. I think Dave Allen advocated using plywood.
