sapper756 Posted September 7, 2010 Author Report Posted September 7, 2010 It is thought that up to six million people are affected by the mistake, which has resulted in more than a million not paying enough tax over the last two years and facing a bill for the outstanding cash. But others could also find they have been paying too much. A computer problem at HM Revenue and Customs has led to a £200m shortfall and 1.4 million people will be told from today to hand over an average of £1,400 Millions of people are about to find out whether they will be hit with a demand for more than £1,000 in tax they have underpaid because of a blunder.
