FLAPPER 123 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 been given an stb quartz, but can anyone tell me if the clock on it should be ticking/correct time with it having a battery........or if it only starts working when the clock is set and struck off ? thanks.
pjc Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 has the clock been stopped? Is the battery flat?
THE FIFER Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 there is a button to start it off, but if you turn the key and stamp it it should start if this is set to off, there is also a button you can press to test the batteries,
carlsberg Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 my stb is kept running all the time even over winter if yours is not it may have been stopped if so just strike it off if it still dont tick then change the battery
FLAPPER 123 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 thanks for the replies, i dont know if it has been stopped, the time on the clock says 9.20 and there is a clock roll still in with a time printed on it......the clock is not sealed. :-/ thanks......
FLAPPER 123 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 do you know how to open the clock? hi pjc, yes i do .........
pjc Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I would just try a new battery and strike the clock then if its going stop it and reset it to the correct time and restrike to start.
sapper756 Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 If you do decide to fit a new battery, be very careful, as the 2 wire connections are very delicate
FLAPPER 123 Posted November 24, 2009 Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 thanks clockman, got it...........
