Guest rodders Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I cut out a board the lengh of my yb loft underneath the boxes and covered with fine mesh, i then covered under the boxes with mesh, the idea is fresh air will be entering at all times, I will have to see how it works :) mine is simular i have pipo boxes in yb darkness loft i cut 4inch slots under them in floor covered with fine wire then boxed in under boxes leaving 2inch gap below boxes so when loft is darkened air flows up front of boxes to gap at roof level above boxes extra ventalation with no extra light as i block of vents in front of loft when i darken off
Guest shippy Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 does not have to be pitch black i drop a blind to darken but do not shut off vents so only semi dark birds body moult no bother best of luck

kirky Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I have a 1 foot square hole in the floor in corner of loft I place drinker on a grill over it as the breeze blows through it keeps all the feathers out of the drinker. with a solid floor you could use plastic drainpipes on the sides or back of loft.
