johnny11 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Hi All Anyone experience a bad toss today Sent 40 youngsters for their 12th toss this morning (from 16 miles). Went there on Saturday morning all home well before me thought excellent. Only let them out on Sunday flew for 1 hr 30 mins. Took the birds training again this morning to same spot. Let the hens go first. I watched for a while and they took a little longer to clear than normal, when I thought they had gone I released the cocks, then I saw the hens coming back, they had still not gone. Anyway gets home and not a pigeon, until after 1hr 10 mins, then I got 16 all cocks from one crate.....not seen another bird until I left for work at 8-30 2hours 20 after lib

bluecock Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 personally two miles is a waste of time they range further than that always ued to start at 15 miles totally agree with you m8,an insult to a pigeon's intelligence i always start at 15 miles don't get me wrong it usaully takes them 2or 3 before they start coming right but after that they're usually ok, igave them 5 15 milers and moved to 24 miles today and they beat me home so happy enough with that.
