after droping 4 today sounds not a lot but its near 1/4 of my team what to do next do i give them some more trainers i can get to about 100mile then stop them for next year i need to build a old bird team. or do i race them and risk losing more any help will be most welcome

it really depends what your after for the future m8.. Iv found that if im going for races from 100 to 250 miles, birds that havent races the previous yrs arent that reliable. But given time as 2 and 3 yr old birds, these pigeons treated the same way have been clocked from 400 miles.

I assume that since you say 4 was 1/4 of your team , that you have 12 left. If so, I would race 4, and train the other 8 out as far as I could, and keep them for yearlings next year, another thing you will need to consider is the sex of the birds, so you have what you need for next yearhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

they are distane birds jan thealen and fear bro birds plus 2 dordens i want them as 2 and 3 year olds no rush they have been trained with other birds and i going to albert babingtons in the west midlands next week so i am thinking of taking them and doubling them up there
