my old fish house as been gutted i have just removed the front i was going to use wire sheeting but i think it would look a mess even after painting so i am going to use planed 2 buy 1 with a 1in gap between them to let the air in what do you think

Any pictures mate? And Vermin could still get in there easily  ;)

well if your going to leave a 1 inch gap say goodbye to your birds a weazle or stoat can get through that gap also your leaving it open to rats and mice too .

its going to start a good foot of the floor i will be putting a wire floor with trys then a foot of wether boad here is the wire that i being ued for floor would i be better using avary wire

that steel gridding ideal on floor ;) mesch most of loft and buy some plastic securty shutters ;) so can switch from been a glorified avairy to a dry loft  ;)

Agree that mesh wouldn't look well on the front of your new loft. I think you need proper aviary mesh, and as small mesh size as possible. 1 inch gap is too big, that will let in vermin.

id go with avairy netting the gridding for floor only would look ugly on sides/ front  imo  ;)
