what i usually do is split the cocks and hens so i dont ave ny more problems with throwing away eggs etc. cocks in stock section and hns in racing section. JMO

so your racers and stock get mixed together?

 

do you not let them out at all all winter?

I usually just leave them alone, a bit of R&R, until the end of the YB racing when I split the sexes for the winter.

I tend to leave them together untill the young bird season is over, however I do not allow them to rear anymore young, I replace all eggs with dummies. Once the young bird season is over, then I split everything up, and start looking at my teams for the forthcoming season.http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

i usually leave them together until young bird season is over before spliting them up, i sometimes allow the odd youngster to be reared depending on how losses are with the old birds more of a backup & usually race any latebred birds up to 200 miles the following season
