we are off down to cornwall next week .and we would like to know if anyone down that way knows off any cattle markets takeing place during weeks of june 28 till july8. as we have just made chicken hut and run (kids had great time doing it) but can not wait to see few hens in it :) thanks for any help :)

many poultry sites selling chickens have a search on web , might be some on your door step :) watch for red mite ;)

look on preloved, have you thought of rehoming some laying hens which are destined for africa?

thanks lads could do this but be nice for kids to go to market and see how it works and all the things that go on there.and we want pol hens so kids keep watch them grow :)

i live in north cornwall and theres a couple locally but would be quite a drive from hayle, not sure what they have down that way, i think shalis lofts on here is from truro and he might now of some near hayle :)

Hi Blueron point of lay hens are fully grown, i have some tree week old lavender bantam chicks and can get you most types if you don't get any at the cattle markets, phone these guys and they may help you find markets in that area http://www.lawrie-and-symington.com/html/home/index.php they run poultry sales :)

thanks mate :) yes melton have sales on tuesday :) but we want to make it part of hol fun for kids :)

 

take the kids out of school :D ...its educational after all :D ....them cornish birds may not take to leics...to cold :D have you also factored in several hours in a car on the way home with chicken poo gently 'fermenting' into the aircon :)

yes mate have taken all in to acount.can not be as bad as last year coming home from cornwall baby was sick all way home we even run out of suff to put her in :) in the end just had her nappy on.its not that cold in leicester?we had nice weekend in july once :D
