PIGEON_MAN Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 birds in france yesterday seemed to have a grueller for no apparent reason , cound,nt have asked for a better day but return times were well over eta and lots missing , was thinking the K index that bilco goes on about was haywire solar flares and suchWe were at Fougeres as well yesterday, our birds were up at 8.45 in a NORTH WEST WIND, at times it was blowing a gale near us,we thought from the start that it would be a tough race with most members flying around 265 miles we were looking at 6 1/2 to 7 hours, the winner was doing 1187 6 hours 37 mins.Returns were a bit patchy winning member having 7 out of 8 when we were at the club at 6pm,others 2 out of 8,myself 5 out of 8 on the night with 2 on the loft first thing this morning.Surely the wind as it was and the heat was the reason as you say for the grueller.
