paullock Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 I was really shocked tonight when they showed the nest of 5 peregrine chicks at the bristol suspension bridge, there was very clearly at least 8 pigeon racing rings at the edge of the nest, 08 - 07 - 09 rings, but no mention from the presenters as they enthused about the success of the rearing parents. Paul.
Guest mick bowler Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 I was watching it the other night when they were championing the Sparrowhawk. It was like a script straight out the RSPB, and even on another show, when someone emailed in and said there garden birds were in decline and thought it was the SH, they came out with all the old spiel of insecticides etc being to blame! They were asking for pictures of SH so i sent one or two in and they never showed them, i wonder why?
Rebus Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 The perigrine nest at New Lanark only hatched 1 egg so they fostered another 3 young birds to the nest, this was published in the local paper last week. (so much for nature taking its course)
