Found Pigeon

Hi

 

We have a pigeon in our care that arrived yesterday. It wasn't flying very well yesterday, much better today but we easily caught it. It's had a good meal of seed and water and is currently housed in a cardboard box. There are a lot of cats near us so am worried they will catch it if we leave it free.

 

It's yellow tag reads NL2009 1311701 and it also has a blue tag with NPO and a blank green tag.

 

Does anyone know who it might belong to or how we can find out?

 

We are in Kent, near Margate.

hi there, where are you from? the nl stands for netherlands (dutch)

the 2009 is the year, has the bird got an other rings on? or maybe a telephone number stamped on the flights of the wing?

We checked the wings for a phone number but none was visible. No other tags with codes. Not sure what to do in the long run if it is from Netherlands. We can't really keep it. Any suggestions?

well its most probabaly living in the u.k now, if it is registered by a u.k owner, this will help.

thanks for trying, with a bit of luck the bird will get fit in a few days with your care, feed it up a bit and give it water, and take it a few miles from your house if you have no look finding the owner, it should make it on its way then
