Hi there all fanciers,

Most of my pigeons are getting old and rasing poor quality of youngs. I am losing too many youngs because of this. Some are even giving unfertile eggs.

So far the pigeons have been sitting on plastic eggs so that they can go through their natural instinicts.

But i would like them to raise some youngs so hence I am seeking for some foreign pigeon eggs?

If anyone can help or sell me some eggs then please email me. Must be located in the Birmingham Area.

Many thanks

sounds strange to me,cocks often fill their eggs at 11 or 12 or even older. Are you sure their is not something wrong with them or your management systems?.I think I would check for health problems like coxi/canker/worms/parasites/infections etc perhaps get the droppings tested and then start some multi vits/supplements etc,Then when you are sure they are in good health and good condition try again. There must be something wrong here and you need to find out what it is.

thanks for the replies.

I think it may me, as i am currently refitting the loft with new boxes.

the moving or scaring the birds is having effect on unfertile eggs.

instead of them sitting on plastic eggs or laying unfertile eggs, i think it will be best if I just get hold off real eggs and let them raise the youngs.

I have manged to get hold of five eggs from local lofts. The birds are happy.

So hence I have not missed out on the bredding season or lose any of the adult birds.

please help.

many thanks

They won't settle while you are banging about in there and they won't sit the new eggs either. Before ever attempting breeding you need to get everything sorted FIRST...not during.1 treat all birds for canker and check they are not too fat 2 get all the breeding boxes in and have everything exactly as you want it ie NO MORE MOVING BOXES OR ANY BIRDS AROUND once they are paired up.3pair up and train them to know which box is theirs 4 get them in a nice QUIET and CALM routine.and then change nothing, keep them contented and relaxed
