Personally if it was me i would wait till next year to start racing if that was your intention but entirely upto you.maybe some guys close to you can help you out with some birds and you can can build up a team maybe get some late breeds off them IMO

are you intending to race or just keep them as pets ???

if you put up where your from, there maybe someone local to you who you could visit.

This worked for me and ive learnt a lot from a local flyer off here :)

my suggestion would be to go help an old hand in a local club and learn the ropes for free then can decide if this is what they truely want and get some valuable experience as well and meet with club members and get to know the ins and outs a bit ;)

Have you a pigeon loft? How or what you start with depends on the room you have to house them in.

i think your best bet is try to find your local club and meet its members , and ask the secatary if he would ask members on your behalf for some ybs to help you start up ;) im sure most would be willing to help and apply to join club , like said before you might be able to help an old hand out and they'll teach you the ropes a bit ;)

If you can get young birds all from the same loft and line then I'd say that's the best option of the two. If you're planning on breeding then I'd shy away from getting a mixed family loft because it'll be a real pain in the *expletive removed* when you come to breeding because you'll never be able to predict what kind of offspring a pairing will produce.
