glenrandal Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 sorry to see this but it is happening all over the country the hen sparrowhawks have not gone to nest yet..........
Guest monkeynuts71 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 the first picture is from a sparrowhawk. the others are from a peregrine attack last week. it caught this bird and landed 3 fields away and was attacked by a buzzard which then let her go. she came back the next day, 20+ stiches later shes doing ok but still not sure if she will survive. she had a hole in her crop the size of a 50p, stiches and superglue have given her a chance, the same attack i have had a youngbird reported in redruth about 55 miles away. had them attacked wednesday still missing some 6 weeks ago i had 29 old birds to race and 31 youngbirds. i now have 13 old birds and 24 youngbirds.
