T_T Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Let us know your saddest memory in losing one of your pigeons.
aarden Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 my saddest day was when me and my grandad flew in our first young bird race again when i was 13years old (1983).we won the race so i got on my bike straight to my grandad's house to tell him we had won,our delight was short lived when the secretary phoned the next day to say the race was declared void because a crate of pigeons were found in the marking shed which hadnt gone to the race point. the race was declared void at a subsequent meeting

paul k Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 number 80...winner of 1st section 8th open CSCFC, winning £1200 + a colour TV, 2x1st clubs, 2x2nd clubs plus other position in the NFC and CSCFC in 2002. In 2003 she flew the nantes NFC and was late back about 4pm in the afternoon. i went in the loft on the monday morning( as NFC was a hold over til sunday) picked her off the floor as she did not look well about 5 mins later she died in my hands. buried her in the garden next to the loft.
mealybar Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 A rat got into the loft and decided to take some eggs, one hen wasnt having any and ended up having her eye taken out by the rat. She was also brain damaged by it and when I found her the next morning she was in a sorry state. Sorry I didnt get there sooner :(
Guest slugmonkey Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I think my saddest pigeon memory was a yb I had reared as a baby was out loft flying and got taken by a hawk he had no races or diplomas but he was my buddy he would come out of flock and fly by me or land on me while I mixed food and he would ride on me while I walked around farm I only foster babys to other nests now as I was so torn up about it
