jimmy white Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 no reply to me yet,,,, but was thinking about sending story[ as nonpigeon flier] about the hawks never getting a mention, these bird could eat infected birds and spread any desease ,yet the rspb are protecting and releasing these birds ,to do exactly that, some of these birds migrate as well, i personally think they pose a serious danger, theve allready been found with bird flu in other countries,,just might give the papers something else to talk about??? p.s like fifers post
Guest Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Also liked Fifers post. I am sure the event will go down well, better still if it was on National TV News and what better way to counteract stuff & nonsense in a limited circulation newspaper than 2 minutes on National TV? Would suggest try and get TV to attend and try and get interviewed. While I agree that you are all right to be annoyed at the press item, which I think might have been sparked by what the French, Belgian & Dutch governments are doing, maybe the best long-term course of action would be to stop buying / reading the rag.
THE FIFER Posted February 22, 2006 Author Report Posted February 22, 2006 I WONDER IF THIS DAILY STAR NEWSPAPER WILL BE AT ANY OF THE LIBERATIONS ON MONDAY THEY ARE TAKING PLACE AT, VAUXHALL,LONDON,CATERHAM,CARDIF,NORTHAMPTON,MARGATE,WALSAL,DEVON, FIFE (THAT'S ME) BELFAST,WEST SUSSEX,PETERBOROUGH,GLOUCESTER,NORFOLK (THE ROYAL LOFTS) SO MAYBE THEY WILL BE AT ONE WHO KNOWS. THESE LIBERATIONS ARE ALL FOR THE MARIE CURIE DAFFODIL APPEAL.ON MONDAY THE 27TH FEB.
Guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Good Luck Fifer, hope you post some photographs on the list.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 I've just let my young birds out, they can't fly yet, they're walking round the garden. Sure enough 4 neighbours knocked at the door playing hell so I invited them in (didn't want to have a scene on door step) and I printed the press release off peter bryant to show them. They seemed alright about it after reading the release but they were go'in on about reporting me to defra! So the public need to know the facts not the fiction!
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 more neighbours here now, I'm showing them the forum and everything thats been put by peter bryant, LIKE I HAVEN'T ANYTHING ELSE TO DO! the daily star want a size 12 in the knackers! >
T_T Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Read in the paper this morning of people taking their pet parrots to bird centers because they don't want to catch bird flu from them. Some of these parrots are worth £3000. Hope all Canary breeders, Budgie breeders don't do the same.!! We have GOT to get some information across to the general public. It might be worthwhile reading up on it so that if anyone knocks on your door you can be exact with your information.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 NEIGHBOURS, EVERYBODY NEEDS GOOD NEIGHBOURS or so the aussie soap says, well not here, problem is i live smack bang in the middle of a council estate. > my next door neighbour keeps pigeons aswell, but hes at work so he will get away with all this trouble.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 I'm gonna make a poster to put on front door and one to put on the loft I think, explaining the details of pigeons and avian flu. Its all getting beyond the joke, one woman said 'if you don't lock your pigeons in, i'm gonna call the police'. Can the police do anything?, they don't do anything with criminals so what they gonna do to a pigeon fancier who hasn't done anything wrong? ITS REALLY PEEING ME OFF NOW. > >
Guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Bloody hell, its amazing what people believe, we will all be condemned now this f--ing Daily Star thing has been written. I had mine out this morning, luckily with no neighbours complaining, but I think I may knock on a few doors, just to let them know that pigeons are a really low risk. We should maybe approach a more respectable paper to print the actual facts, so people get the right information.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 cool! i GOT LOCAL PAPER COMING HERE THIS AFTERNOON so i'll put my town on the straight and narrow! ;D ;D and i will name and shame the daily star! ;D
Guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Dont forget to mention the site so people can keep up to date with it all!
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 hang on a mo, police knocking at door! :'(
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 copper didn't know a thing about it, not even the french ban so there you go! but he asked me to shut my pigeons in, to keep the neighbours happy???????? bullsheet I will, I have to prepare for an upcoming race season, I hope. but with crap like this it might be doubtfull! :-/
Guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Get some good locks for your loft and an alarm fitted!!
johnny11 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Guys it would be a good idea to inform Mr Bryant of what is going on a result of the paper, or should I say comic cant believe people read this rubbish anyway.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 i'm gonna inform it with my local paper this afternoon and i'm gonna email the rpra now about it, its not fair how I / we are being victimised it all complete rubbish and all because one person (at the daily star) wrote what he did. ITS A GOOD JOB I LOVE THE SPORT OR I'D BE JACKING IN THIS MORNING.
Guest Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 That would just be playing into their hands, just keep letting them out until we are told otherwise.
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 No worries here they're still out now!
Guest jason Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 local press just been, I've told them all I can and theyr'e going to look into things! anyway at least I have got my story across and i also got a good reply from the rpra! ;D
