hi i need some help as i am a newcommer to the hobby... I have 8 birmingham rolers (so i have been told?)and they have produced 4 sets of eggs in which a lot got broken and some didnt hatch...But 1 squeaker hatched.

I had a glare of hope today as the 2 birds i tried to pair up mated 3 time in the space of half an hour. Deos this mean that i can expect some eggs in the next few days? please give me some help!!!!

thanls alot jordan???? ;) ;) ;)

Hi ya Jordan

I dont know much about rollers but I suspect that the breeding cycle will be the same as pigeons. The cock bird will mate with the hen. then eggs will come in about ten days. It can sometimes be longer if the hen is not settled to the loft. They will sit the eggs for about 19 - 21 days when the youngsters will hatch.

Hope this helps mate.

No sorry i havent a clue why the eggs got brocken last time.May it be because i wasnt givving them enough grit? or would this not make any impact? Also the pair that were sitting on the eggs have never sat on eggs before this is their first time...maybe they dont know what to do properly!

thanks for the reply...
