Guest Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Maybe being paranoid but dya all feel that we will get racing cos there is another three farms been confirmed Norfolk area and they have banned exporting poultry Just wondered if you've picked up misleading info. Last DEFRA said was that another two farms had an outbreak, total = 3, as at 29th April. Only restrictions on poultry exports are from within the zones as per DEFRA advice (still same today as on 29th April):- Low Pathogenicity Avian Influenza Low pathogenicity avian influenza subtype H7N3 has been confirmed in a poultry farm in Dereham in Norfolk. The affected flock is being culled and a restricted zone of approximately one kilometre radius has been imposed around the holding. Other premises belonging to the same company, located mainly in Norfolk, are under restriction pending further investigation. Intra-Community Trade For the time being, intra-community trade TRACES certificates (ITAHCs) for live birds and hatching eggs can continue to be issued provided the birds or eggs do not come from premises under restriction or premises in the restricted area. In the unlikely event of certificates having already been issued from premises under restriction, but where the consignment has not yet been exported, they must be immediately returned. Intra-Community trade in poultrymeat and poultry products can go for intra-Community trade from anywhere in the UK. Such consignments can continue to go on commercial documentation.
