roller_ Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Hi to all members. I'm a newbie(to the forum not to pigeons), and wondered if my latest project appeals to any of you, in which case I would be grateful for any help. I am attempting to establish an encyclopedia of fancy pigeons on the internet, hopefully having something up and running by Feb/Mar 2007. I am looking for good quality photos of as many breeds as poss., but mainly foreign and rare breeds. I've started a couple of groups on "flickr" (check this out: ). These are the standard of pics I am looking for(most of these are by me) - sometimes with a little help from "photoshop". If anyone is interested in helping I'd be only too happy to accept.
brianm Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 wow just had alook through mate , those birds are fantastic,,,,,
roller_ Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 Glad you liked them. I see you are a Gers fan(I assume), where are you? Glasgow?
DOVEScot Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Very good. I think you are onto a winner, I have searched the internet for something like this for ages. Another good thing would be a colour reference between breeds, yelow, almond, bar, dark chequer to name a few
roller_ Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 If I get plenty of pics, I would like to show all the colour combos, but given the number of breeds(I'm up to 900 so far), I think I'll need a terrabyte of web space. It's a bit of a daunting task, but if the fancy community help, it makes it a lot easier.

THE FIFER Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 I have the encyclopedia book on this but the problem is copyright regarding the photos etc, but will help if i can
Guest Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 Why not contact the NPA for a list of breed clubs then contact the secretarys, also the VPC that caters for all the breeds that dont have a club in the UK Just an Idea and the way I would try and solve the problem

Blue Chequer Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Very good site, I think it may help if the breed name could have been inserted, a lot of fanciers won't know what they are.
chickadee Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Very good site, I think it may help if the breed name could have been inserted, a lot of fanciers won't know what they are. If you click on the photo it comes up with the breed name as well.
roller_ Posted November 21, 2007 Author Report Posted November 21, 2007 I take it that you mean my flickr page. If you click on the photo, it opens to large scale with the breed name at the top and any comments at the foot. Try it. Cheers
DOVEScot Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Cheers roller, I have been looking for this bird for ages, my mate has them http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1194459319/s-all/
