T_T Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I wonder if any of you can tell of an instance where you may have retrieved one of your racing pigeons from a fate that would most probably of cost the pigeons life or permanently damaged it if you hadn't done what you did to save it. The pigeon has got better and gone on to win for you. I wonder if that's their way of saying thankyou. I was second Fed this year with a Bl C that suffered Sour Crop last year but managed to pull him round so he's repaid me.

Guest Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 This has happened to us on more than one occasion in 2000 there was "Braveheart" http://www.redroselofts.com/braveheart.htm In 2001 we found a blue bar Baby yet again huddled in the grass at the front of the loft, 3312 Desmett Matthys hen daughter of our Favourite Studley. she was very weak and emaciated, so I took her in the house, wrapped her in a warm towel and tube fed her, which I continued to do for about a week. We never flew her in the Yb series, shortly after Jack Barkel visited is and he graded her the best yellow eyed hen in the loft. She has bred many futurity money winners, this year she was the Dam to the Highlander one loft winner and grand dam to the 13th. Last year one Cock which I purchased at the Club young bird auction in 2004 came back from training with a huge hawk gash under his wing. We dressed the wound and isolated him. Within 24 hours his head had swelled up to three times, hence his nickname Eddie, eddie recovered and we put him back on the race team this year. He hasn't won a race yet, but has been our first bird back from the B race on all three races so far.
