rlez Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 just read on the mnfc web site the channell programme alencon, tours this falls way short for distance racers were is bergerac why have two middle distance races i think they just out to make money.this is just not on
Mike Lycett Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Rlez Sounds perfectly reasonable to me to be honest- but everybody will have their own preferences
peterpau Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Sounds ridiculous to me my birds have done Perth already. Alencon is ok for the yearlings. Tours is no good for birds that have done Bergerac Tarbes and Perth. Looking after the sprint boys again then.
AlanWilkins Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 shouldnt we ge happy were goin over at all, atleast this open france up for next year as long as things go well. Im just glad there light at the end of the tunnel. \By the way is it right the welsh are goin over this weekend as i was told this last night??
Guest Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 yeah we racing from Oodenarde in belgium on sunday. we basketing tomorrow morning 338 miles to me
peterpau Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Glad to be going but what is wrong with bergerac. I thought the object of the club was to promote long distance racing. Don't tell me they couldn't do it cos mine went from Alencon 297mls to Tarbes 634mls last year.
Guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 we dont fly under rpra rules we fly under whu rules! Cymru Am Byth!
Mike Lycett Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 PeterPau Not being nit-picky but tell me where the MNFC has set its stall out for long distance racing? It's a club that flies MIDDLE and LONG.
rlez Posted June 16, 2006 Author Report Posted June 16, 2006 as i see it mike, to me were is the long distance race the rpra states that we can go 400 mls up to bergerac why was it not included never mind saying were lucky to be racing from france lets have a go and have least one middle distance and then bergerac.then everybody is happy we need to make the fences higher not lower lets test the birds
Mike Lycett Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Rlez Personally, I would tend to agree. I'd have expected one Alencon, La Ferte type race & one Saintes type race... That way you cater for both middle & long minded fanciers. As I understand it though, I thought the members were balloted at the last MNFC race marking to agree on a French race programme if they were able to race. The only Clubs I know that actually advertises itself as "Long Distance" are the BBC and the NFC
peterpau Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Rule 1.1 To promote and encourage distance racing and for that purpose to organise races for the membership of the club. Forgive me if I am wrong RPRA distance race is 451mls. Seems fairly plain to me. No attempt to fulfil this criteria, for a very large number of the members. Maybee the members that sent to the south coast and were apparently ballotted were more sprint minded
Mike Lycett Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Rule 1.1 - doesn't say "long" or "middle" does it. All down to interpretation. As for the RPRA thing - its irrelevant. Has no bearing on the MNFC or any organisation.
martin dunks Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 i marked pigeons at grimsby marking station from 6.45 till it closed no ballott went on there or was the ballott done in someones front room ?
Mike Lycett Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Ballot was performed at the Lulworth marking - certainly in the NW Section anyway.
