Guest Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Looks like there's been a giagantic cluster muck up with this race. Timed a cock in doing 1476. ypm well ahead of our next bird, NO HENS BACK AT ALL, looks like they've not dropped them off and taken then to the 250, only fed them for the 125, I'm not a happy camper
jimmy white Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 no wonder your not pleased, what a carry on, hope things get sorted out hyacinth
Guest Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I'm fuming mad, we won the race by a mile with a Van Reet cock, but looks like they're going to void it. 2 of my best hens missing (Champion bird C series for 2nd year on the run and second CB from last year) They put them up at 250 miles and they've never been that far.
jimmy white Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 as usual something like that happens when you get a good one, never the opposite way ,,i hope you get these other hens back
antwerptom03 Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Linda, I hope you gettum home! Our club switched from west to south mid season last year and that race devastated our YB team. We had been flying an easy west course and i'd been feeding light with a fair amount of success and 0 losses. The fifth race of the year i fed as i had done the past weeks only to find out after shipping my birds were headed south for the mountains of PA in a head wind. I lost nearly 90% of my YB team. We had already won two races with those birds that were lost. I threw in the towel for the season after that race. I really felt bad for those birds that had no business flying into a head wind the way i had fed them. 372 beers later i'm over it and Our clubs back in the combine this year and i'm ready to have at it again. Good luck! Tom
Guest Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Good for you Tom,stick it to em I'm so sorry about your young bird team, it hurts me to loose one bird let alone 90% But I am pleased to say that my two hens have come back late but OK, the sprint race was voided and we may be flying it again next week. Our driver screwed up and let the hens out at the 250 mile mark 10 minutes before the A and B Races. I had 100% returns but sorry to have lost the win in the C Race. Linda
Guest Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 PS a good heafty Gin and Tonic makes things seem a bit better lol
peterpau Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 100% returns + a G+T sounds like it turned out OK in the end. LOL Bet you're still a bit hacked off though
Guest Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Dammed hacked off Peter, twice now our Cock Shokanaw has been done out of a win.
