tysiebabyluv Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 I am not a breeder or anything. A pigeon laid eggs in a nest on my balcony. She has been incubating them for 21 days now as well as the daddy pigeon has been too. Lately it has been constant 24/7 incubating. This morning nobody was on the eggs and one was just on the edge of the nest. All day now and its late at night now nobody has been on the eggs. The one egg is just beside the nst. What do i do? Are they abandoned? Are the parents coming back? Were they abandoned because of US or because the babies are dead? Will the babies inside the eggs be dead after 24 hours of no warmth? If not what do i do? Help them stay warm? Leave them for the parents? Get rid of them? PLEASE HELP!
Guest jason Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 if they are 'street pigeons' (wild ones) i'd just throw the eggs in the bin. if they've been left to go cold the chicks inside will be dead anyway. hope this helps jason
Henrik Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Eggs should have hatched after 18 days if they were full obviously abandoned tham as they werent gonna hatch anyway so I would put them in the bin and clear away the nest and discourage them from nesting on the balcony again.
westburylofts Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 HAVE TO AGREE SHOULD OF HATCHED AFTER 18 DAYS WOULD THROW THEM AWAY
